Willy Wonka’s Veruca, Violet, And Mike Remember Gene Wilder With Heartfelt Messages
The world lost an imaginative, loving legend this week when Gene Wilder, iconic film star and comedian, died at 83. Though Wilder starred in comedy classics The Frisco Kid, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein, kids and kids-at-heart will always know him as the quirky title character in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
It felt like all of Hollywood paid their respects to the late actor on social media yesterday, but the ones from Julie Dawn Cole, Denise Nickerson, and Paris Themmen—who played the original Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, and Mike Teevee, respectively—really tugged on the heartstrings.
