Turn Out The Lights And Watch This Trailer For The Latest (And Last) Paranormal Activity
Grab your security blanket, Paramount has just released a new trailer for their upcoming horror movie Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. The sixth and final film of the franchise, this latest Paranormal Activity installment promises to reveal the creepy mythology behind the previous movies.
Been dying to get a good look at Toby? Want to find out how the haunted family histories in each film all link up? The filmmakers assure us that there will be answers, but we’ll have to wait until October 23 to get them. For now, we have this trailer:
Same haunted camera, same weird kids, same horrifying home movies—hey, when your franchise has raked in over 40 times what it cost to make, you stick with the formula as long as you can. Speaking of which, it seems the movies’ producers fear that Bloody Mary’s well (of BLOOD) is running a little dry.
Jason Blum, the CEO of the production company behind the successful franchise, has confirmed that this is goodbye for Paranormal Activity: “It’s coming to an end. This is it, the finale,” Blum told USA Today. “We’re saying it before the movie opens. We’re not going to grind this horror franchise into the ground. This will keep Paranormal Activity as part of this culture and this particular time in a really fantastic way.”
“At some point, might there be a reboot? You never know,” he added, leaving the door open for Toby’s return (and the film industry’s unmatched love of recycling).
