Set Your Sights On Some Legendary Creatures With Discovery’s Sea Monsters: The Definitive Guide
For decades, sightings of mythological sea creatures like the Loch Ness Monster have been undermined by one very serious problem: the witnesses’ complete lack of credibility. If you don’t know the first thing about aquatic life, it’s not hard to make a bogus identification. Well aware of this problem, Discovery and Handel Productions have joined forces to offer a more scientific exploration of the legendary sea beasts that have fascinated young and old for generations. You can watch their findings come to life on Monday night when Discovery unveils Sea Monsters: The Definitive Guide.
With the help of the world’s leading experts and some groundbreaking technology, this one-hour special sets out to answer many of the burning questions surrounding those mysterious creatures. In New Zealand, Dr. Kat Bolstad examines a Giant Squid that washed up on the beach and considers its ties to a popular Viking obsession: the Kraken. In Scotland, a team of scientists dive into Loch Ness, using the latest hydrophone technology to learn more about Nessie. Meanwhile, in British Columbia, we get eyewitness impressions of Nessie’s Canadian equivalent, Cadborosaurus (aka Caddy).
Of course, the crew behind the special wasn’t able to get close to every legendary sea creature, but don’t let that stop you from witnessing a vicious CGI battle between Megalodon and Livyatan.
Sea Monsters: The Definitive Guide premieres this Monday, March 28 at 10pm ET on Discovery. Your first sighting awaits in the trailer below.
