Mark Ruffalo Tells Us What To Expect From Thor: Ragnarok
Marvel has four movies (Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man) scheduled to arrive before Thor: Ragnarok, but details are already starting to emerge about the third entry in this popular franchise. According to Mark Ruffalo, Marvel is planning to take the series in a surprising new direction, taking unlikely inspiration from a beloved ’80s comedy.
“There’s a little bit of Midnight Run,” he told Empire. “I feel like that’s kind of where we’re heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner. It is a universal road movie—that’s where we’re heading. It’s not where you’d think it will be, so it’s not your classic road movie, but it has that structure I think.”
Ruffalo also recently started the rumour that Cate Blanchett is circling the villain role. While the Oscar-winning actress’ involvement still isn’t official, Geek.com has it on good authority that she would be playing Hela, the ruler of Hel and the realm of Niflheim. “She’ll be her normal comic book self, complete with her cloak and power over the dead souls of the Nine Realms,” the site explains. “Hela will make it to Asgard, where she’ll be in cahoots with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, current motives unknown.”
Expect more details to follow in the weeks to come. In the meantime, you can revisit Thor’s past adventures in the trailers below.
