Kylo Ren Ditches His Little Black Dress For An SNL Spoof
Meet Matt the radar technician, Starkiller Base’s newest employee.
Now look more closely and you’ll see that underneath that blonde mop and Terry Richardson predator glasses, it’s really Kylo Ren in disguise.
Hosting Saturday Night Live this week, Adam Driver and the cast spoofed reality TV show Undercover Boss with a skit that saw Driver take his Force Awakens character under deep cover to find out what life is like for the employees of Starkiller Base.
“You get so caught up in restoring the galaxy to its rightful state that you miss what’s going on behind the scenes,” said the Commander of the First Order dedicated to wiping out the Resistance. “I’m looking forward to having some real talk with some real folks.”
But workdays without the Force prove to be tough on Kylo. The guy can’t even rewire a calcinator without using his magic powers. And when talk in the Starkiller cafeteria turns to gossip about the boss, “Matt” has a hard time controlling his temper. That internal memo about not making fun of Ren’s LBD really should have been circulated more widely.
But his stint as a radar tech also turns out to be an opportunity for personal growth: Kylo learns how hard his underlings work, coming away with a newfound sense of respect for them—and for their families. Especially the ones he’s killed. Check out the clip below.
What do people say about Kylo Ren around Starkiller Base? He went on Undercover Boss and found out.
