Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor Will Wreak More Havoc In Justice League
Now that the dust has settled, we can finally get beyond the hype and backlash surrounding Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Widely misunderstood as a flop, the movie earned a respectable $871 million worldwide. Of course, the complaints of critics and audiences still stand, but at least one of their targets deserves a re-assessment, namely Jesse Eisenberg. By all accounts, Eisenberg left many filmgoers feeling extremely irritated—which is exactly what they should demand from a lunatic bent on world domination.
Following the backlash, there was some uncertainty about Eisenberg’s future in the franchise, particularly after he expressed doubts of his own. However, during an appearance at MCM London Comic Con over the weekend, the actor confirmed that he’ll be back. “They just started filming Justice League, so I’m kind of like waiting for my crack at it,” he said. “I don’t know what I’m allowed to say because I feel like there’s probably some drone following me from DC, and if I say anything wrong I get, you know, picked off. But yeah I think so, and I love it, and I love everybody who’s in it. You know, it’s a really talented group of people.”
The Justice League Part One arrives in theatres on November 17, 2017. For a better sense of what Lex Luthor might bring to the table, watch Eisenberg discuss his take on the character in the video below.
