Here’s What ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Would Look Like As A Hanna-Barbera Cartoon
It’s no secret that “Guardians of the Galaxy” hero Peter Quill is a big fan of music from the 1960s and 1970s. But does anyone know anything about his tastes in cartoons? Because if Quill grew up on classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons like “The Flintstones” and “The Jetsons,” then he’s in for a treat.
Artist Jay Fosgitt illustrated an interpretation of Star-Lord and pals as if they were Hanna-Barbera characters of the 1970s. Behold the awesome results for yourself, above.
The so-called Hanna Barbardians of the Galaxy takes some liberties with the biggest bunch of a-holes in the universe, shrinking Drax down to Rocket Raccoon height and packing a couple dozen extra pounds of pudge to good old Groot. But everyone is recognizably “Guardians,” recognizably Hanna-Barbera, and recognizably awesome.
For Marvel fans looking ahead to 2018′s “Inhumans,” Fosgitt put a “Popeye” spin on those characters as well:
Someone, turn these cartoons into a real thing, right now, please and thanks. (via io9)
