Game Of Thrones Has Reportedly Cast Its Next Big Bad

Spoilers for A Song of Ice and Fire lie ahead!

In case you were wondering if the baddest living baddie in Westeros post-Joffrey was always going to be Ramsay Snow, know that there is always someone worse waiting just around the corner. But this time around, the big bad doesn’t cut off penises!

Watchers on the Wall spotted Danish actor Pilou Asbæk filming Game of Thrones in Ballintoy Harbour, Northern Ireland on Tuesdsay (September 1), in a scene that involved a loud crowd cheering for him in a coastal setting. This just screams Euron Greyjoy, whom MTV News already assumed was joining the season 6 cast, based on a leaked casting call.

Greyjoy—Theon’s uncle—is a major player in the fifth book in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, A Dance With Dragons. Things get thrown out of whack in the Iron Islands when Theon’s dear old dad Balon dies (which happens around the time when Robb and Joffrey died on the page), so the rest of the Greyjoy fam who are not stuck with Ramsay participate in a Kingsmoot to crown their new monarch. This definitely sounds like what they were filming on Tuesday, so without further ado, here’s your new bad guy:

So scary! Asbæk previously starred on The Borgias, and he’ll be playing a character who—in the books, at least—raped his brother Victarion’s wife. This leads to her brutal murder, as Victarion can’t stand being with a woman who slept with his brother. However, eagled-eyed fans have noticed that casting calls don’t mention a character who sounds like Victarion, so it seems like this particular rape plot might be tossed aside in favor of the Kingsmoot, and the other stuff Euron does to try to sit on the Iron Throne (like hatch a plot to marry Daenerys).

What say you, Ramsay?
