Arya Gloriously Shades Game Of Thrones Critics In A New Deleted Scene
Listen up, critics who chastise Game of Thrones for its nudity and violence: Arya Stark has some choice words for you. At least … she would have, if one fabulously shady scene from the HBO show didn’t get cut.
GOT’s Season 6 DVD and Blu-ray sets arrived in stores today and, as Uproxx points out, they include a longer look at the play Arya watches in Braavos. As you may recall, the play pokes fun at recent events in Westeros, and apparently gave the GOT writers the opportunity for a little meta humor.
As Arya watches the play, two women next to her get upset about the vulgarity happening onstage. “Violence and profanity. How original,” they say, going on to call the play “disgusting and unacceptable” and “utterly gratuitous.” In response, Arya simply scoffs, “Why don’t you just leave then?” which may as well have come straight out of the mouths of showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff. Damn, girl!
