Fox Is Officially In Talks For An X-Files Reboot

Good news for all wannabe believers: Network officials at Fox have just confirmed that they’re in talks about bringing back the beloved sci-fi series, “The X-Files.”

Deadline reports that Fox TV Group chairman Gary Newman revealed today that the network is considering a reboot of the supernatural drama, and that he’s “hopeful” about the outcome.

“The X-Files” initially ran from 1993 until 2002, accruing a massive cult following. The series centers on FBI Special Agents Dana Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, and Fox Mulder, played by David Duchovny.

Series creator Chris Carter hinted at a reboot last summer, but it’s great to know that the network is now officially considering it.

Deadline also reports that another Fox TV Group chairman, Dana Walden, said the network is looking for a timeframe during which all the “key players”—including the show’s former leads Duchovny and Anderson—will all be available.

So get ready for the possible return of Mulder and Scully!
