Watch Chewie Get Volatile In New Force Awakens Deleted Scene
As you already know, a 3D Collector’s Edition Blu-ray of The Force Awakens arrives in stores next month. In addition to the commentary we told you about yesterday, this new disc comes equipped with several previously unseen extras, including some deleted scenes. As a preview of this new disc, Entertainment Weekly has released a portion of one deleted scene, revealing what became of Unkar Plutt (Simon Pegg) and his dispute with Rey (Daisy Ridley).
The last time we saw Plutt, he was incensed to discover that his prisoner (Rey) had escaped in the Millennium Falcon. As it turns out, J.J. Abrams shot a follow-up scene, showing Plutt confront Rey on the planet of Takodana. In response to Plutt’s threats, Rey draws her lightsaber, only to have it plucked out of her hand by the temperamental junk dealer. But just as Plutt takes the upper hand, Chewbacca intervenes, snatching the stolen weapon… and a small souvenir.
Entertainment Weekly’s preview comes to an abrupt end after Chewie takes back the lightsaber, but the Blu-ray version goes on a little longer. As you’ll soon discover, Plutt’s behaviour causes Chewie to lose his cool. Given the wookie’s limited debate skills, he avoids any further conversation—and simply rips off his adversary’s arm. You can watch the complete deleted scene on November 15 when the Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Blu-ray arrives in stores. In the meantime, check out the pre-arm ripping preview below.
