Channing Tatum’s ‘Gambit’ Is Totally Happening: Here’s When You Can See It

Circle your calendars, fanboys, Channing Tatum’s “X-Men” spinoff “Gambit” is officially official, and it’ll hit theaters next year.

According to Variety, the movie about the expert card-throwing mutant, played by Tatum, will arrive on the big screen on October 7, 2016, five months after the much-anticipated “X-Men: Apocalypse.

“I don’t want to give too much away because we don’t know that much right now other than who Gambit is,” Tatum told MTV News back in October. “We really do want to try our hardest to give something fresh. We’re obviously going to go to the saving the world superhero movies eventually, but not for the first one.”

The follow-up to “X-Men: Days of Futures Past” will be released on May 27, 2016.

In addition to the news about Tatum’s first superhero movie, Twentieth Century Fox announced that it shifted the release dates for six films, including the next “Planet of the Apes” movie, which was pushed back one year to July 14, 2017.

The “Fantastic Four” reboot, which stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Michael B. Jordan, will move up six weeks to June 2, 2017.
