Can Scarlet Witch And Vision Have Sex? The Avengers Stars Weigh In
Love is in the air with Avengers: Age of Ultron, and we’re not only talking about Hulktasha. Joss Whedon’s new Marvel movie introduces two new superheroes well known by comic book readers: Scarlet Witch and the Vision — two heroes with their very own, unique romantic history.
How much of that history will we see unfold in this weekend’s Avengers-sequel? Spoiler alert: Not a ton, but that doesn’t mean the future doesn’t hold big things for Scarlet Vision shippers.
And by big things, we mean sex.
While Vision actor Paul Bettany wouldn’t talk much about his future with Scarlet Witch, he did address the number one question on MTV’s Josh Horowitz’s mind: Can it work between these two, given that Vision doesn’t have genitalia?
“You’ve read the comics. They’ve somehow figured that out,” he said. “And let’s be honest, the man is able to change his density. That’s a boon for any girl.”
For Elizabeth Olsen, she’s less concerned about Scarlet Witch and Vision’s sex life, than she is about the man who asked the question. (“What’s really important in your relationships… I’m asking you!” she laughed.) Really, her main concern is what the future holds for the two characters, and at least in her mind, it’s a very exciting future indeed.
“In my mind, I have things going on in my head where Kevin Feige is probably saying, ’I don’t know why she’s thinking that,’” she said. “But I’m thinking that!”
For instance, there’s a lot from the comics that Olsen hopes to see, even if she doesn’t quite expect to see — like “House of M,” a 2005 comic book miniseries event that took place in an alternate reality created by an emotionally fragile Wanda Maximoff. Olsen said we’re not likely to see such a thing, “because it’s X-Men and Avengers together,” and the film rights for those sets of Marvel characters are owned by Fox and Disney, respectively.
Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1.
