‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Made More Money In One Night Than You And I Will Ever Make In Our Lives
Earth’s mightiest heroes are not big fans of Ultron. The same cannot be said for Earth’s mightiest moviegoers. The people have spoken, and based on the huge amounts of cash they’re throwing at “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the statement is loud and clear: “Ultron, we love you and your mean mechanical face.”
Put another way, “Age of Ultron” is making money — big, serious money — and it hasn’t even been in the United States for 24 hours yet. The Hollywood Reporter has box office numbers for the movie’s Thursday night debut, clocking in at a walloping $27.6 million.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″ still holds the title of single best opening night, standing atop a gold pile worth $43.5 million. Still, “Age of Ultron’s” Thursday showing is way beyond the $18.7 million earned by “Marvel’s The Avengers” in its first night, and puts the sequel well on track to clear its predecessor’s record-breaking opening weekend.
It’s also way more money than you and I will ever see in our entire lives. 🙁
Hey, whatever. STOP WHINING. As long as Marvel keeps making that sweet green so we can keep getting that angry green, we won’t be green with envy. (But we might be green with nausea if the green jokes continue, so I’ll cut it there before the green guy kicks my butt.)
