Watch Henry Cavill And Armie Hammer Spy Hard In The ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ Trailer

man-from-uncle

Are you prepared for Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer to become super-spy BFFs? You better be, because that’s exactly what’s happening in this new trailer for “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” Guy Ritchie‘s adaptation of the 1960s espionage series.

Take a look:

Armie Hammer’s Russian accent forever and always, spasibo bolshoe.

If the car chases, bathroom brawls, and sex-fighting in the trailer didn’t tell you everything you need to know about “Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” the official plot synopsis should do the trick:

Henry Cavill (“Man of Steel”) stars as Napoleon Solo opposite Armie Hammer (“The Social Network”) as Illya Kuryakin in director Guy Ritchie’s action adventure “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” a fresh take on the hugely popular 1960s television series.

Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” centers on CIA agent Solo and KGB agent Kuryakin. Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.

In a way, this is kind of a Superman meets Batman team-up. Cavill plays the Man of Steel, obviously, but once upon a time, Armie Hammer was lined up as Batman in “Justice League: Mortal.” The movie never came to pass, but here, we’re getting a glimpse at what might have been — and for Cavill, this marks two Caped Crusader crossovers, with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” set to hit theaters next year.

“The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” strikes on August 15.
