This Man Spent $10,000 To Get Hundreds Of ‘Simpsons’ Characters Tattooed On His Back

The Guinness World Record attempt took 130 hours. Worth it.

Michael Baxter, a 52-year-old Australian prison officer, had a dream: He wanted to have more cartoon characters inked on his body than anyone else on earth. And so, over 130 painful cumulative hours throughout this year, he reportedly spent $12,000 in Australian currency (nearly $10,000 USD) for these glorious results:

The “Simpsons” superfan got this masterpiece just in time for the series’ 25th anniversary next week. He says that Guinness has accepted his application, according to the Daily Mail. (The current record-holder, Len Wein of New Zealand, has a meager 41 ink jobs of Homer Simpson on his arm. What’s going on in that part of the world?!)

Baxter’s grandchildren apparently love the tattoo, which also depicts landmarks from the show such as Moe’s and the famous couch in addition to all the familiar faces. A campaign is reportedly underway to have “The Simpsons” creators depict him on the show in animated form. Check out video below:
