Bats Is Back (Already) With The First LEGO Batman Movie Teaser

Most of the world has yet to see Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (we’re literally reviewing it as I type this), but that didn’t stop USA Today from revealing the first trailer for the Bat-centric spin-off to 2014’s The LEGO Movie.

So if Batfleck isn’t your thing, here’s Will Arnett reprising his role as the slightly blockier Caped Crusader. Better still, we even get a look at his unusual eating habits and, slightly more exciting, Batcave.

Why so much emphasis on Bats’ secret lair and routine habits? Arnett gave USA Today a pretty solid answer: “The Batcave is even better than we remembered it, it’s awesome. But I also love getting into the ho-hum day-to-day of being Batman and what it’s like to fight crime each day. Like the idea of Batman oversleeping his alarm clock makes me laugh. It really does humanize him.”

Alright, here’s the trailer for what director Chris McKay (who previously worked as an animation co-director on The LEGO Movie alongside Chris Miller and Phil Lord) hilariously describes as About a Boy directed by Michael Mann.

We’re also told “the story is set around the solitary figure in his killer hide-out—all the Batsuits and silk kimonos he wants—but whose main relationship is with his butler Alfred (voiced by Ralph Fiennes). Batman’s world upends with the introduction of Dick Grayson (or Robin, voiced by Michael Cera) and Barbara Gordon (or Batgirl, voiced by Rosario Dawson).”

Additionally, the brick flick features the voice of Zach Galifianakis as Batman’s greatest nemesis, Superman The Joker, and Mariah Carey as Gotham City’s Mayor. Expect more super-heroic announcements in the coming months.

Mark your Batcalendars, The LEGO Batman Movie hits theatres February 10, 2017. Here’s a poster to go along with your teaser.
