Filming Begins On Orphan Black Season 4

3.8 million people watched Orphan Black on Space last season so we’re guessing that at least that many people are holding their collective breath, waiting for hints on what’s in store for the Clone Club in the show’s fourth season. With filming beginning, like, right now, we’ve finally got some information to share about Sarah and her Project Leda sisters.

With Castor seemingly at bay and Sarah reunited with Kira, things appeared to be settling down for everyone at the end of the last season—but from the sounds of this newly released season four synopsis, it seems as though Sarah doesn’t really do “settled down”:

“In Season 4, Sarah returns home from Iceland to track down an elusive new ally tied to Beth’s past. Sarah follows Beth’s footsteps into a dangerous relationship with a potent new enemy, and uncovers a horrifying new facet of the conspiracy… the near constant terror pushes everyone to their limit, particularly Sarah’s daughter, Kira. Under pressure, Sarah’s old habits begin to resurface. The Leda clones are pulled in disparate directions and Sarah finds herself estranged from the loving relationships that changed her for the better.”

Intrigued? Scared? Stressed out? Don’t worry, you only have to wait until next spring to find out what happens—it’ll feel like no time at all, what with the speed at which Canadian winters tend to fly by.

The good news is that all your favourite actors are returning for the new season: Jordan Gavaris, the hilarious Kristian Bruun, Maria Doyle Kennedy as the not-to-be-messed-with Mrs. S, Josh Vokey and Kevin Hanchard (aka Dt. Art Bell) are all back. And in case you thought the Castor clones were gone for good, cancel the celebration—or don’t, because Ari Millen is so much fun to watch. Millen returns to play “a clone of the likes we haven’t seen before.” Back also is James Frain as former Topside “cleaner” Ferdinand (likes: Rachel; dislikes: Neolutionists). And new to this season is Republic of Doyle’s Joel Thomas Hynes. He’ll play a hard-to-get-along-with hacker.

Season four is scheduled to wrap in March of 2016 and will feature 10 new one hour-long episodes—that’s 10 more chances for the Emmys to give Tatiana Maslany an award already.

In the meantime, catch up on seasons one and two of Orphan Black on CraveTV.
