Kit Harington Takes A Shocking Lie Detector Test About Jon Snow’s Fate

For the better part of a year, Kit Harington has gamely answered prodding questions about the fate of his Game of Thrones character, to varying degrees of frustration. And while none of us will definitively know WTF happened to Jon Snow until the series returns for its sixth season on April 24, the death debate has now taken a literally shocking (and semi-violent) turn.

During a recent appearance on U.K. talk show The Jonathan Ross Show, Harington took a GOT-themed lie detector test that involved him putting his hand inside the “Stone of Truth,” a fancy name for a creepy-looking stone with a face. Ross then asked the actor a series of questions that could only be responded with “yes,” “no,” or “I know nothing.” To up the ante, if Harington’s answers weren’t satisfactory, Ross doled out literal electrical shocks. Yep, really.

Harington said later in the show that he was only on set for Season 6 because he was playing a corpse. “I won’t tell you how many episodes I’m lying dead, but it’s enough that I was out there for quite a while,” he said, adding that it’ll be “so satisfying when you see it and you realize that I was telling the truth the whole time.”

So, OK, yes… Harington’s had to keep a lot of secrets this year and shoulder the crushing weight of confidentiality. But later on in the show, he gave a rare comment on his relationship with former co-star Rose Leslie, who played Jon Snow’s GF Ygritte before tragically dying in his arms at the end of Season 4. The two have been romantically linked for four years, but Harington finally confirmed their coupledom, saying, “I fell in love in Iceland.”

Asked to specify who he fell in love with, Harington said, “I fell in love with my co-star.”

The two then made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Olivier Awards on Sunday, where they were reportedly seen holding hands, laughing, and even kissing. So, yes, this is real and legit in every way, proving love can be born in even the coldest of Westeros winters. Who knew?!
