InnerSpace Goes Behind The Scenes Of Disney’s Inner Workings
In case you like arriving to the theatre super late, along with Moana, Disney has released a new short film preceding it, called Inner Workings. I don’t know about you guys, but as someone who grew up watching legendary Disney movies, along with the short films released with them, this is exciting.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Leo Matsuda is wowing us yet again with another gem—he’s worked as a story artist for recent Disney animated films Zootopia, Wreck-It Ralph, and Big Hero 6. The only difference this time around is Matsuda is serving as the director and writer.
The film concerns a young man named Paul, who’s just another regular dude we all could relate to both mentally and emotionally. Paul works a regular nine-to-five job, but that doesn’t seem to really help fulfill his dreams. He’s a very sensible guy, yet seems like at times he’d rather not be at all. You could say Paul is the representation of each human’s daily struggle between following their logic and heart.
In just seven minutes, Matsuda manages to take us on a journey of self-reflection, as we dive into Paul’s complex mind. Can’t wait to see what Disney has to offer in this short film? Check out InnerSpace’s sneak peek at Inner Workings, and catch the full short in theatres before Moana.
