We Just Found Out What Doctor Strange And Guardians Vol. 2 Are About

It’s a great time to be a Marvel fan, and that’s unlikely to change any time soon. Captain America: Civil War has already emerged as the biggest hit of 2016 (Marvel Entertainment’s Deadpool is the second biggest) and the studio has two major releases planned for the next 12 months: Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Thanks to the ongoing success and the many ambitious projects on deck, the studio always has exciting updates to report—which brings us to a pair of new plot synopses courtesy of Stitch Kingdom.

If you’ve seen the Doctor Strange teaser, you already have some idea what the film’s about, but the synopsis contains a few new specifics: “Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is still nearly a year away, Stitch Kingdom has also revealed the broad strokes of that film’s narrative: “Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.”

Doctor Strange arrives in theatres on November 4, 2016 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 follows six months later on May 5, 2017. You might have to wait a while for a Guardians trailer—they just wrapped production last week—but you can find the first Doctor Strange teaser below.
