New Marvel Art Promises Superhero Friction In 2016

The first trailer for Captain America: Civil War made at least one thing abundantly clear: 2016 will not be a good year for villains. With Batman gearing up to fight Superman and Iron Man squaring off against Captain America, there’s really no imminent need for evil masterminds bent on world destruction. While the basics of the latter conflict are clearly laid out in the trailer, a new piece of promo art offers some additional details. A text-less version of the image can be found above, but the version below offers everything you need to know about allegiances (Black Widow’s with Iron Man, Ant-Man’s with Captain America, etc.) and more.

In case you missed the official synopsis for this film, here it is: “Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”

Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Rudd, Captain America: Civil War arrives in theatres on May 6th, 2016.
