Could this be the year of the clones?
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced their Golden Globe nominations today and Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany was recognized as a contender for Best Actress in a Dramatic TV Series.
The freshmen year of the Space original program generated a small following (soon to be cult) with much praise going to the show’s lead. Do we really need to go into the schpiel? Maslany does not only lead an outstanding cast including Jordan Gavaris, Dylan Bruce, and Kevin Hanchard, but she is also supported by slew of characters portrayed by none other than herself.
Seriously, her name should be on that ballot six times!
This past year, the actress had already won the hearts of fans all over and was slowly creeping under the skin of the television industry, starting with her TCA Award win during the summer.
Naturally, she is up against some stiff competition including Robin Wright for House of Cards, Taylor Schilling for Orange is the New Black, Kerry Washington for Scandal, and seasoned vet Julianna Margulies for The Good Wife. We at Space want to congratulate Maslany for the nomination and wish her the best of luck on Golden Globe night!
You can re-watch the entire first season in our Orphan Black Marathon Friday, January 3 then see Orphan Black return for season 2 on April 19.
