It’s been a pretty longish stretch, but we’re happy to report that last night marked the season two premiere of New Zealand’s foremost series about a guy and his family who are in fact reincarnations of crazy-powerful Norse Gods: The Almighty Johnsons.
Episode one of the show’s sophomore season doesn’t waste any time in reacquainting us with the many blowouts, breakups, and awesome revelations that lead to the disbandment of the almighty (well they are!) Johnson clan.
Only a few months have passed, but everyone is still feeling the burn of the season finale’s myriad shockers—from messy marriages to estranged moms. Although Axl’s (aka Odin) bros are no longer treating his hook-up-with-the-Goddess-Frigg quest as top priority, he’s still got his eyes (and other parts) on the prize.
Roomie Zeb is also taking matters very seriously. Pledging himself as Axl’s faithful sidekick, he’s even changed his name to Freaky, taking after one of the God’s mythical pet wolves named Freki (we second that Freaky is a more fitting moniker). Other episode highlights include a rager of a divine party, Agnetha turning herself into a tree for “some peace and quiet,” and obviously more goodies we don’t want to spoil before you tune in.
Oh, right, and here's a clip!
