Did you guys have fun without me last week? Well, I’m back with spoilers to tell and movies to comment on.

This weekend Cabin In The Woods will be hitting theatres, the much awaited Joss Whedon produced horror with a little twist. While I admit I haven’t seen it yet, the impression I’ve gotten from those who have (and a startling 93% on Rotten Tomatoes) would imply that it will be worth going to see. Who’s in the mood for a scary story about a Cabin in the Woods?

The Avengers

We have two new clips from the movie, featuring the two leading ladies, Maria Hill and Black Widow. Cobie Smulders, who plays Maria, shows off her attitude playing off Nick Fury, in what would appear to be a rather critical situation. Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow beats a few mooks senseless with a chair. Either way, entertaining!

Iron Man 3

Well, well, well, Iron Man 3 has the face of its new villain, and it is Ben Kingsly. Or at least, the final talks are on, so it seems likely. It ahs also been revealed that the third movie will be based on Warren Ellis’ “Extremis” six-issue series on Iron Man.

Catching Fire

It would appear there’s some ongoing drama as to whether or not director Gary Ross will be returning for the second movie in The Hunger Games trilogy. This has caused some problems on the set, as Jennifer Lawrence is expected to be on the set of X-Men in January, meaning filming for Catching Fire has to start some time in August. Conflicting schedules could soon be an issue if the director isn’t readily involved soon. Drama, drama, drama.

Angelina Jolie will be starring in the upcoming Disney film, Maleficent, and it finally has its release date! March 14th 2014 will be the day we finally see what promises to be a fairly visually spectacular movie. Academy Award Winning production designer Robert Stromberg will be directing, and classic Disney writer Linda Woolverton has done the script. Sounds like fun to me!

Hitting theatres this September is Looper, the time-travel assassin flick starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and now you can see the teaser for the trailer! Which is a trend I still hate, but the movie looks cool regardless. It is going to be a good year for science fiction fans.

Doctor Who

News has been pouring out about the fate of Amy and Rory after a scene-in-filming-progress was leaked wherein it would appear the couple was getting a divorce. And of course, rumours coming in all directions as to whether or not one of them is going to bite the dust, the main possible perpetrator being the Weeping Angels. Whether or not it will be Amy or Rory who fail to survive is remarkably up in the air as well. But again, rumours are everywhere and nothing concrete. And of course, because Moffat has been known to lie ad museum about this sort of thing, it’s best to not trust a word he says on the subject.

True Blood

Now we have more official confirmation that Russell is back in this filming clip! Excellent, he was my favourite villain. I’m excited to see more blood spilt this season. Mostly because there are too many people, and I’m excited to see them die.
