It’s been five weeks since Primeval: New World’s mid-season climax aired, in which a lot of questions were raised and some were answered. For instance, we now know the frozen ARC dude was the Special Project Group’s very own Mac—albeit a different version (trip-pay). So let’s see what the next chapter of this dino-mite series has to offer.

Appropriately titled “Breakthrough,” episode nine’s featured “anomaly” is a triceratops that isn’t quite the deadly threat it’s perceived to be. At least this is what Dylan believes hopes. When footage of said creature goes viral online, the team has to work fast to a) get rid of it and b) chill everyone out.

More drama comes from an old brainiac rival of Evan’s, who’s become something of a modern day Howard Hughes, holding up in his swanky mansion with loads of non-perishables and (just guessing) jars full of urine. This former foe proves to be somewhat of an ally—helping Evan uncover a major, ahem, breakthrough—but quickly blows it by doing something utterly foolish.

Okay, enough spoilers and toilet humour for now. Check out the return of Primeval: New World, which aired last night.

What, you're still here? Well how about a little taste then:
