An isolated forest in Oregon holds one of the richest gold mines in the U.S. The only catch is that the mine has the unfortunate reputation of being haunted—hence its 80-year vacancy following a series of incidents. But since when has that stopped anyone from making a fortune? Enter a new owner, who’s decided to reopen the mine despite its tarnished history.

This is the premise behind the new series Ghost Mine, which follows a team of miners (with amusing aliases like “Papa Smurf,” “Bucket,” and, we’re sorry to say, “Dingus”) who work in a brutal environment alongside some allegedly supernatural forces. Also along for the ride are a pair of paranormal experts (who else ya gonna call?) hired to investigate their surroundings.

Of course, it’s not long before the investigators encounter some spooky stuff in the deepest and darkest areas of the mine. Are these discoveries real or unfounded? Is Ghost Mine a legit reality show or an elaborately staged magic trick? Tune in each Wednesday (10E/7P) and let us know what you think.

And in case you missed last night’s series premiere, here’s a little nibble:
