We’re coming to you from L.A. for the fourth season premiere of Face Off, titled "Make It Reign." 14 contestants are here to try to follow in the footsteps of previous champs Nicole Chilelli (season three), Rayce Bird (season two), and Conor McCullagh (season one).

Guest lecturer stint in New York and Paris

What You Missed

Host McKenzie Westmore's famous dad, Michael, will be on board this season as a mentor (great addition). He's got one of those stacked IMDb resumes that make you want to revaluate what you've done with your life. Star Trek (TNG, DSN, V, and E), The Munsters, Raging Bull, and even MacGyver!

For the Foundation challenge, the team boarded the Queen Mary cruise liner to select a crown and create an original queen character that represents them as an artist. This was a great one to watch despite no contestant going for a Queen Latifah.

In the Spotlight challenge, the artists teamed up to create a goblin character based on a fictional land with seven terrains (nice of John Rhys-Davies to drop in as a guest judge). While Anthony (with Megan) had the top look with their Mountain Goblin, the difference from top to bottom was minimal. This is going to be a tough season.

Power Rankings

1. Anthony Kosar - The easy frontrunner after taking home both the Foundation and Spotlight challenges. Will he have more left in the tank for week two?

2. Eric Fox - According to his bio, he was the "Creepy Goth Kid" in high school who kept (fake) severed heads in his locker. He absolutely killed it this week with stellar monster creations in both challenges, earning top look in the Spotlight challenge for his and Jenna's Desert Goblin.

3. Meagan Hester - Have to give her credit for riding shotgun on Anthony's Spotlight victory. Their Mountain Goblin was the best in a really competitive group. Let's see her spread those wings next week.

Troy, We Hardly Knew Ye

It’s no fun getting kicked off first on a reality show. You take time off work, leave your friends and family, and hop on a plane to L.A. thinking your life is never going to be the same. Three days later, it is, and you’re back in Indianapolis wondering what the hell happened. That happened to Troy last night, the weakest of a really strong group of contestants. While his Volcanic Goblin was better than anyone reading this could slap together, it didn't cut it with the judges.

Coming Up Next Week (Tuesday 9e 6p)

Jim Lee and Dan DiDio of DC Comics task the contestants with a challenge worthy of a superhero. Good times!

So what did everyone think? Does Anthony have this season in the bag? Has Eric F. slept in the last two weeks? Will McKenzie call Michael "Dad" all season long?
