Does Barry Manilow know that Samuel L. Jackson (aka Nick Fury) raids his wardrobe? Personally, I wouldn't want to be around when Manilow figures out that his favourite black eye patch is missing. Oh, you're not following? Then you probably haven't seen this Breakfast Club/Avengers mashup video. Let me explain: imagine Iron Man as Brian "The Brain" Johnson, the Black Widow as Claire "The Beauty" Standish, Captain America as Andrew "The Jock" Clark, evil villain Loki as John "The Rebel" Bender, and, umm, the Hulk standing in for Ally Sheedy's reclusive Allison Reynolds. (Sorry, Ally Sheedy.)

Strategically chosen clips from Joss Whedon's The Avengers have been spliced together and set to the voice-over from the trailer for John Hughes' 1985 classic about a socially diverse group of teens condemned to an eight-hour-long Saturday detention. In the mash-up version Nick Fury covers for Principal Richard Vernon, in charge of a school populated by superheroes where Bruce Banner says things like "I'm a nymphomaniac" to Tony Stark.

The creators of the clip cleverly and quite appropriately chose Loki to stand in for Judd Nelson's rebellious Bender, but I'd have loved to see Iron Man in that role, if only so that Downey could be dubbed saying "Screws fall out all the time. The world is an imperfect place," at the 0:50 mark.
